Course description:

This is a fun and forward thinking course that allows you to develop a passion for IT. Whether you have studied IT, iMedia or Computer Science before or not, this course will open your eyes to the ever changing world of IT and how we have come to depend on it in every walk of life.

You will learn about the fundamentals of IT, its global impact, application design and development, games design and prototyping and how the internet has conquered the world. You will learn skills in planning, management, business, ecommerce, networking and infrastructure, along with various software packages, making sure that once you have completed this qualification you have the skills desirable to employers.

With links to industry, you will have the opportunity to develop skills required to work in any career. In the modern jobs market IT skills are becoming a focus of employers and are proving to be a linchpin on recruitment. This incredible course not only allows you to see the industry, work with local companies such as Gatwick Hotels Association but also teaches you the fundamentals of IT that are applicable to any job, course or future aspiration.

We will follow the Application Developer Pathway of the Introductory Diploma

Assessment:

Assessment is in the form of examined units and coursework units.

What can I do with this qualification?

You will be able to enter the workplace with a technical qualification showing you have the ability to overcome a range of challenges. If further education is your option this course leads onto a range of degrees from IT, Digital Media, Designer, Games Developer, Animator, App Developer and Web Developer/Designer and Computer Science. This course is seen as an A Level equivalent by most universities including most Russell Group universities. However, the incredible thing about this course is that the options for post Sixth Form are endless with the technical skills for industry and academic skills for university covered.
