Course description:

A fun and forward thinking course that allows you to develop a passion for IT and Computer Science. Whether you have studied IT, iMedia or Computer Science before or not, this course will open your eyes to the ever changing world of IT and how IT shapes and influences all walks of life.  

This course is an excellent choice for students with either a creative background, focussing on design and design theory, or a mathematical/scientific background allowing students to explore coding and algorithmic principles behind application development. 

Course units:

On the course students will cover five units, two examined, and three NEA (courseworks):

  1. Fundamentals of application development
  2. Developing application software
  3. Designing and communicating UX/UI solutions
  4. Website Development 
  5. Immersive technology solution development or Game Development
Assessment:

Assessment is in the form of examined units and coursework units.

What can I do with this qualification?

You will be able to enter the workplace with a technical qualification showing you have the ability to overcome a range of challenges. If further education is your option this course leads onto a range of degrees from IT, Digital Media, Designer, Games Developer, Animator, App Developer and Web Developer/Designer and Computer Science.

The Computing Application Design course will prepare students for further study at University or in an apprenticeship.  The foundations of this course will allow students to develop their knowledge in a wide range of Computer Science, Media or IT related topic areas.
